There's a chance you'll be entitled for compensation if your Alaska Airlines international trip is delayed. However, because Alaska Airlines is a US-based carrier rather than a European one, this only applies to flights departing from Europe, not flights originating from elsewhere and arriving in Europe. Why should you expect compensation in these circumstances? Because EU Regulation 261/2004 (EC261 in short) safeguards your passenger rights even if you are not an EU citizen and are flying on a US airline. The airline (probably) hasn't informed you about these; few airlines, particularly non-EU carriers, do.
So, the next time your Alaska Airlines trip from Europe is delayed, check to see whether you're eligible: you might collect up to 600€ from the airline. Simply fill out our calculator to find out what you may expect in less than 3 minutes!
